To start: email the file to help@easyofficefix.com with one line about what happened. You will get an assessment and a flat price before any work begins.
What this is
Most “corrupted file” problems are not really corruption. They are a broken internal reference, a damaged string table, an orphaned pivot cache, or a file that was truncated when a network drive dropped. Those are fixable without touching your actual data.
This is a manual service. A person opens your file, reads its internal structure, and repairs it. There is no upload form, no automated scanner, no subscription.
What we take on
| File type | Typical problems |
|---|---|
| Word (.docx, .doc) | Will not open, “file is corrupt” dialog, unreadable content, missing styles, broken tables, deleted-but-still-in-file text |
| Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm) | Open-and-Repair loop, “we found a problem with some content”, blank sheets, formulas showing as #REF!, lost formatting, damaged pivot tables |
| PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt) | Repair prompt on every open, missing slide masters, media that breaks the deck, file that opens then closes |
| CSV / data exports | Broken delimiters, wrong encoding (mojibake), truncated rows, Excel splitting one column into many |
| Archives of the above | File opens as a folder of XML instead of a document — usually a renamed ZIP |
Not sure whether your case qualifies? Email a description. If it is not something we can help with, you will hear that straight away instead of a quote.
How it works
- You send the file. Email it to help@easyofficefix.com, or a download link if it is large. Include the exact error text if there is one, and what you were doing when it happened.
- You get an assessment and a flat price. Usually within one business day. If the file is unrecoverable, you are told before paying anything.
- You get the repaired file back. Same format where possible, plus a short note on what was broken and how to avoid it recurring.
What to include in your email
The more of this you send, the faster the answer:
- The file itself, unmodified. Do not “fix” it first — every re-save from a broken program throws away recoverable structure.
- The exact error message, ideally as a screenshot.
- Which Office version and platform (Microsoft 365 on Windows, Office 2021 on Mac, and so on).
- Whether the file lives on a local disk, a network share, or a synced folder (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive).
- Whether you need the file’s content or its formatting and formulas as well. The two have very different success rates.
Privacy and handling
- Files are used only to diagnose and repair that one file.
- Working copies are deleted after the repaired file is delivered and you confirm it opens.
- Nothing is published, resold, or used as an example. If a write-up would help others, it is written from scratch with invented data.
- If your file is under NDA or contains personal data you would rather not email, say so in your first message and a secure transfer route will be arranged.
What this service is not
It is not a Microsoft support channel, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. It is an independent repair service. It also cannot help with licence, billing or account problems, and it cannot recover data that was never written to disk.
